The Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) will on the weekend of Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 February hold a tournament aimed at fostering peaceful coexistence among Kenyans at this electioneering period.?
The tournament, dubbed Football4Peace will be held in all the 16 MYSA zones in Nairobi with the theme to raise awareness on the importance of free, fair and peaceful elections, to help reduce inter-ethnic and other tensions in the community and to demonstrate and promote solidarity as Kenyans among the youth.
Both boys and girls
The matches will involve both boys and girls and will be played in the following grounds depending on the teams? specific zones:
Dandora ? Tom Mboya, Korogocho ? Market, Eastleigh ? P.C.E.A, Maili Saba - ?Mailisaba Field, Githurai ? Pandpieri, Mathare ? Mathare Primary field, Huruma ? Dragon field, Mathare North ? Drive Inn, Kahawa ? Mahiga, Mbotela ? St Patrick, Kariobangi South ? K.C.C, Mwiki ? Mwiki grounds, Kayole ? Dr Mwenje Calvary, Pumwani ? Go-Down, Kimbo ? Kimbo Primary ,Ruaraka ? Babadogo Field
Semi and finals
The semi-finals will start in all 16 zones at 1400hrs on Saturday afternoon and the finals at 1400hrs on Sunday afternoon. Winners will receive trophies, medals, certificates and other awards.
